Mother's Day 2010

My Top 10 Favorite Things About being your Mommy:

10. Learning about the World again through your eyes.
9.  How no two days are ever the same.  It is always an adventure!
8.  Watching the two of you love all over each other.
7.  Assisting you in your journeys to learn about the World around you.
6.  Listening to you babble and talk to each other.
5.  The way you can make something so ordinary quite extraordinary. I have learned to appreciate the simple things in a way that I haven't since I was a child myself.
4.  The way you love me unconditionally.  Good, bad, impatient or tired...you love me regardless.
3.  How hearing your laughter and seeing your smiles literally melts my heart.
2.  How scrawny old me is your guard dog during your toddler nightmares.  How my hand on your baby chest can soothe you when you are fussy in the car or can lull you back to sleep.
1.  Without you, I would not be blessed enough to have the title "Mommy," a role I was meant to fulfill.

I am so thankful to be your Mommy!  I love you to the moon and back!

Love,

Mommy

Things like this just don't happen to most people. . .

Throughout the course of Jeremy and my relationship, many random and hysterically funny things have happened to us, that don't happen to most people.  I mean, come on, we met from an apartment fire which condemned our apartment complex.  We almost couldn't go on our honeymoon b/c I may  have misplaced my purse, containing my driver's license.  And, on our first night home from our honeymoon, our carbon monoxide detector went off, which prompted the arrival of the Dublin Fire Department to storm through our house at 3 a.m.  And this is just a small list of things that happened over the course of almost 6 years of marriage!

And then there was this. most recent debacle .  .

Jeremy and I decided to go look at a new car for him.  We set off, excited to test drive a new Honda Accord and do a little wheelin' and dealin'.  Who knew that this is how things would turn out. . .

Yep, that's right.  On our test drive, we ran out of gas. . . on the side of the highway. . .

                                          in the middle of a thunderstorm. . . .

I mean, did this really just happen?  We finally got an outing without the kids, and we end up stranded on the side of the road?  Is God trying to tell us NOT to buy this vehicle possibly?

30 minutes later. . . .ya, that's right, 30 mins later, someone from the dealership finally shows up with gas. . . and I might just add that we could SEE the dealership from the side of the road. . . and NO they did not walk there with the gallon of gas. . . though it kind of felt like it. . .

and did I mention, I really needed to pee?  Yeah, should have hit up the bathroom beforehand I now realize.

**And did I fail to mention that on our ride there, I spilled close to half of my bottled water in my crotch and then got to walk around the dealership, looking like I peed my pants?  Nice, huh?

Yeah. . . .things like this just don't happen to most people. . .

Sister's Shopping Trip

Last Friday, Jeremy took a day off work so my little sis, Emily and I could go on a girl's trip.  We headed up to the Jeffersonville Outlet Mall for some serious shopping!  We enjoyed some sisterly time talking, shopping, eating and just hanging out!  It was so nice to shop leisurely (without 2 kids in tow), eat out (without planning our meals around feedings and schedules), and sleeping in!   We enjoyed late night talks in the hotel's hot tub, ordered room service for dessert and  breakfast and found some great purchases!  Thanks to my hubby for taking time off work and juggling two kids, for 2 days so that I could enjoy some time away!  This is definitely going to become an annual tradition.
Jeffersonville Bound!

Keepin' It Classy.....our first meal out without kids and what do we pick...Waffle House. . .

Can you blame us?  How delicous does this look?  Notice, I couldn't wait to eat a bite of my breakfast sandwich b/f taking the picture. . . ha!

Uhhhh....do you think I liked it?

Bellies are full and we are ready to do some serious shopping!

Day 1 Shopping for me (day 2 was way more successful)

Day 1 Shopping for the kids (multiply this by 2 for Day 2's shopping spree)!

Mexican Dinner !  Not sure if we ate more or shopped more!
Ready for Bed after hittin' the hot tub...ahhh a full nights sleep!
Em's Breakfast in Bed!
Yummy Room Service!

Thanks again, Jeremy for making this trip possible!  You are the best!  Can I go again next weekend? :)

Caleb, 3 months

I can't believe Caleb is 3 months old already.  Where has the time gone?  He has changed so much since the day we brought him home.  He won't go back for another check up until next month, so I don't have any recent stats to share.  However, below are some fun facts about our "lil man."

*Caleb is sleeping through the night!  We (and I mean Jeremy:) feed him around 11 p.m.  He wakes up anywhere around 5:30 or 6:30 a.m.  (This is quite a change from Mackenzie, who didn't sleep through the night until she was almost 1 year!)

*He is a laid back little guy.  He goes with the flow and is soooo easy.

*He is happy and always smiling.  He has a smile that can melt your heart.

*He is talking up a storm.  I think he is going to be an early talker (like his sister was).  He loves to coo and even does an adorable screech when he gets excited.

*He drinks about 4-6 oz each feeding.  He is still on Prevacid, and is now taking 5 ml once a day.

*He still gets backed up every now and again, so we are adding a few tsp of Pear juice to a few of his bottles.

*He is great at tracking, reaches out and grabs hanging toys, will mimic you if you stick out your tongue, laughs out loud and can hold his head up completely.

*He is not the biggest fan of "tummy time."  However, he can push up on his arms when lying on his belly.  I believe there is a definite link b/t good motor skills and tummy time, so we make sure to fit it in several times a day.

*He LOVES his big sister and she equally adores him.  She is so good with him and is a little mother in the making.  (One morning she offered to watch him in her room while I took my shower.  I was a little hesitant at first, but decided to give her a chance.  I could hear her on the monitor reading him books and singing him songs.  If he fussed, she would sweetly reply "It's okay, sweetie."  Now, on the days that I don't work, I enjoy a nice, hot shower....compliments of my 3 year old!)

*He does great at his sitter's house and enjoys all the attention and stimulation there.  He takes a nap there every day  from 9:45 until 11:00.  Thank you Lori, for putting my boy on a schedule!

*He loves riding in the car and falls asleep within minutes.

*He loves being out in public and looking around.  He is sooo good.  Sometimes when we go out to eat we almost forget he's there b/c he's so quiet....and not b/c he's asleep...he's just chillin'.

*He still prefers sleeping in his bouncy seat.  I guess we will worry about him growing out of it when the time comes.  For now, he is sleeping through the night, so I am fine with it...especially now that I am back at work.  This summer, when I am home, I will break him into his bed.

*He is the little boy we always dreamed of having.  We are so blessed to have two perfect, healthy children. We are enjoying every minute of it, because the second time around, we know how fast it passes!

Happy 3 month Bday, Little Man!  We love you!

Easter Festivities 2010

As are most holidays, Easter was packed full of fun activities, get togethers with friends and family and annual traditions.  We enjoyed a playdate with our friends, Julie (who I job share with), and kids Faith and Michael dying Easter Eggs outside.  Jeremy, Nana and Grandpa took the kids to our neighborhood Egg Hunt (while I was away on a sister's shopping trip-another blog all in itself:), and we enjoyed Easter Dinner with the Buzzard family at our House on Sunday!
