Family Pictures

This weekend, we finally got family pictures taken.  I went in with realistic expectaions.  I figured trying to get a 3 year old and almost 3 month old to smile for perfect strangers (for over a half hour) may be asking a lot. If we left with half-way decent pictures where everyone's eyes were open, I would be happy.  To my surprise, they both did GREAT!  Hopefully all family pictures in the futures will go just as smooth!

Daycare Debut

My maternity leave is almost over! I can't believe it's almost been 3 months since Caleb's birth! I have treasured this time at home with him! Two days this week, Caleb joined big sis, Mackenzie at her sitter's house, for a few hours. This gave me some much needed time to run errands and have a little "me" time. It also provided a good test run for figuring out how much time we need to get ready, what we need to pack and let Lori and Caleb get to know each other. Caleb did great and was a big hit with all the kids! Mackenzie, being the big sister, did a great job helping Lori and making sure the other kids "were nice to her baby" (in her own words). Here are some pics of my sweet boy, and WONDERFUL sitter, Lori!

Trip to the Zoo

This past weekend, we enjoyed our first trip to the Zoo as a family of 4. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to enjoy a day outside. Both kids were great and we look forward to many more trips this Spring and Summer! Since then, a cold front has come through and we are back to wearing warm coats and Winter clothes! Go away Winter!

Visit with the Limburg's

My older sister, Melissa and her family stopped in for a quick visit on their way to their new house in Connecticut. It was their first visit since I had Caleb. Melissa was supposed to come in earlier this month, but developed what we thought was the stomach bug. . . except it wasn't. Apparently, I am going to be an Aunt again! God decided 4 kids were just not enough for their family and they should have another. We are so excited for Caleb to have a playmate this Fall! Judging from the pictures below, it looks like she will have A LOT of good helpers!

We miss you, Limburg Family! Can't wait to visit with you again, soon!

Soccer Girl

We recently signed Mackenzie up for a soccer class at Sport's Ohio. Several of my friend's kids are playing recreational sports, so we decided to give it a try. We signed her up with our neighbor's son, Antonio and they LOVE it! It's a great way for her to practice listening to other adults, following multiple step directions and being part of a team. She plays once a week and is a great listener and participant. She is also a pretty good soccer player! Keep it up and we may see a soccer scholarship in our future! :)

Caleb 2 months

I can't believe that Caleb is 2 months old already. He is the sweetest baby and has been the perfect addition to our family. Mackenzie is head-over-heels in love with her brother and we catch her all the time kissing him, singing to him, and comforting him when he is upset. Here are some recent stats and facts about our sweet boy:

*At Caleb's 2 month appt, he weighed 11 lbs and 8 ounces (25th percentile), almost double his birthweight, and 22 1/2" in length(25th-50th percentile).
*Several times this week, he has slept a 6 hour stretch at night!
*He is still having reflux issues, but the Prevacid seems to help more with the spitting up. Our pediatrician also recommended we add a 1/2 tsp, per ounce of formula to his bottle of Pear or Plum juice to help with digestive issues. This coupled with the meds, seems to be making a BIG difference.
*He takes 4 1/2 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day.
*He is growing out of his fussy time of night, which was usually from 8-10. This means we can watch shows without closed captioning again! :)
*He still prefers to sleep in his bouncy seat vs his bed. I am trying to have him do his daytime napping in his bed, but he lasts about 15 mins b/f he starts screeching. I think the wide open space feels less comforting then the cushiony/padded bouncy seat.
*He is smiling a lot and beginning to coo. He has even laughed out loud a few times.
*He is still a skinny, tiny little thing.

Disney On Ice

Today we took Mackenzie to Disney on Ice. My friend, Beth and her daughter, Avery met us there. Caleb enjoyed a "special day" with Nana and Grandpa. It's so nice being able to share some one-on-one time with our sweet girl. She LOVED the show, but was disappointed b/c her favorite princess, Sleeping Beauty, didn't make an appearance. To put an end to her never ending stream of questions, we had`to tell her`she was sick with the flu. Poor girl, it's really the only thing she wanted to see, but she was a great sport about it! Here are some pictures from the show at Nationwide Arena.
