Father's Day 2012

I am beyond blessed to have grown up in a household with the most amazing Dad in the World.  For 18 years, I lived with and observed a man who loved and cared for his family with amazing patience (especially in a house of ALL women), positivity and pride.  He taught me so much about what a family should look like, how they should interact, treat and love each other.  He taught me resiliency and determination in my younger years; how to ride a bike, tie a shoe, drive a car.  In my college years, how to balance a check book, save money and work hard.  And in my adulthood now, he is still the man I turn to for a second opinion and the only one who I allow to remove my splinters.  :)  Thank you for shaping the person I am today and for all the lessons you have taught me along the way.  I know I probably don't say it as often as I should, but I LOVE YOU!

And to my second Dad, aka "Father Bob", I hit the jack pot when I met your son AND gained you as a Dad!  You have always treated me like your daughter, and love and supported whatever crazy idea we may have had in our (almost) 8 years of marriage (like maybe owning 2 homes for a short period of time:). We can always come to you for "real" advice and know that you will always be there for us.  Thank you for the role you played in shaping your son into a wonderful husband and father.  I am eternally grateful to you!  And thank you for playing such an important part in our children's lives.  They love you bunches!

                                                                      Happy Father's Day!

SUMMERTIME!

These pictures pretty much sum up how we feel about Summer....

Summer is HERE!  And we couldn't be happier!!!!

Memorial Day 2012

We headed up to the Buzzard's lakehouse to celebrate Memorial day. This year it held an extra special place in my heart after losing a high school friend that I have known for 20 + years who was serving in Afghanistan. While I loved every second of fun at the lake, I tried to remember all the families who have loved ones currently overseas protecting our freedoms and all the families who have loved ones who will never again return home.

Memorial Day weekend was beautiful and the kids had a blast being together! We enjoyed a peaceful day laying out on the dock, watching the kids swim, jet ski and go tubing behind the boat. It was the perfect day and wonderful to spend time with each other. The highlight of the trip for both kids was jet skiing. Caleb took his first official ride and LOVED it!

Caps, Gowns and Preschool Dreams

My sweet girl is officially a Kindergartner!  I can't believe how quickly time flies!  A few weeks ago her school held an outdoor graduation a local park/pavillion.  Complete with cap, gown, diploma and performances.

The Preschool graduating class of 2012 entered the stage with nothing less than the traditional Pomp and Circumstance.  Each child's name was called and after receiving their diploma they went center stage to announce on the microphone their future goals.  Mackenzie was the first to go.  I was a little nervous since she can be really shy in front of large crowd.  However, she did amazing!  She walked confidently to the microphone and announced in a loud voice "when I grow up, I want to  be a pediatrician."  (Someone please remind me in the future not to shoot pictures and videos at the same time.  Somehow I always manage to take a picture and disrupt the video at the worst time possible:).

(in case you missed it, which I'm sure you did b/c I took a photo in the middle of her speech "when I grow up I want to be a pediatrician").

Can you tell that these graduates are DONE with photos and ready to hit the after party? :)-

After the graduation ceremony, there was a super sweet slideshow set to music.  The teachers had asked families in advance to provide them with pictures from their child's life since birth.  Seeing my sweet baby girl's life literally flash before me on the big screen definitely brought a tear to my eye.  Time truly does fly!

Following graduation, we took lots of pictures, enjoyed some cake and snacks and then headed back to our house for dinner with the family!  It was a night we will all remember through the years and we couldn't be more proud of our sweet girl!
