Snow Day!
The kid's got their FIRST snow day of the year! Surprisingly, we have not had any! Of course, sledding was at the top of the list, along with hot cocoa and a movie by the fire!

Caleb's 6th Birthday
It's hard to believe that this little guy is 6! Time truly flies!
Enjoying birthday lunch with Daddy at Wendy's
Here are some fun facts all about the birthday boy:
*He is COMPLETELY obsessed with sports, specifically football and basketball. At the ripe age of 6 he had more knowledge of the rules, play calling, penalties, terminology and stats than I do. It's quite amazing!
*This year his reading really took off. He went into Kindergarten reading simple, patterned stories. Now he can pick up a book and read! His favorite books are sports books (duh), animal books or funny stories.
*He loves math and is quite advanced. He is constantly thinking about numbers, and can tell you random facts related to numbers. For example, he can compare how many gallons my van holds compared to my dad's "sports" car and can determine the price difference. He has even picked up some basic multiplication thanks to his 3rd grade sister.
*Before K he was not a fan or writing or drawing. His wonderful K teacher has instilled a love of writing and illustrating. He now loves to write stories and often asks his teacher when writing workshop is.
*This year, Caleb stopped going to Goddard (daycare before K) and instead goes to a Church program in the a.m. I was a little nervous about this, along with attending elementary school and latchkey after school. 3 new changes. He never had any tears about this and made friends quickly. He instantly bonded with 3 buddies, who are now termed "The Core 4". It's as if they have known each other their whole lives. Their friendship is the sweetest.
*You love playing outside or playing football or basketball in the basement. You are not the best loser (although I try to beat you, but your advanced skills do not always allow me to), but you are getting better.
*You have a kind and gentle heart, mixed in with the perfect amount of mischief (maybe a little too much at times:).
We celebrated your birthday with a sport theme party.

Happy New year 2016
For the second year in a row, we went to Fujita a as a family. This year, our good friends the Essman's joined us. We stuffed ourselves silly and the enjoyed dessert and drinks back at their house. We returned home in time to get the kids in bed and watch the ball drop. Little did we know, our sweet and sleepless 9 year old stayed up reading and came out at midnight to ring in the new year!
wishing this year ahead is full of colorful memories and sweet snuggles!

Christmas
Christmas is always a magical time of the year. This year was no different. We woke up early to find that Santa has spoiled us again.
Then we hit the road to celebrate with the Buzzard crew. It was a blast being together, watching the kids rip through presents and enjoying a tasty meal.
It was unseasonably warm, so while the girls got artsy, the boys enjoyed some football!
Merry Christmas!
