Fall Fun!

Fall is quickly passing and these days it feels more like Winter than Fall.  We did however, enjoy some Fall fun ealier this season when the weather was a bit nicer.  We hit our local pumpkin patch in town and let the kids enjoy a day of Fall activities: picking pumpkins, enjoying homeade glazed apple and pumpkin spice donuts, and playing in the "corn" box and inflatables.  The weather was beautiful and we had a blast!

Picking the perfect pumpkin is serious business!

Ready, Set, GO!

Whee!

                                                                             Fun in the corn box!
So much better than a sand box!

Inflatables!  Jeremy &I even made my way through the haunted house a time or two...
I mean, who could resist this fun?

I love thise one of the kids...totally their personalities right now!

And weeks later, the kids spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Buzzard trick-or-treating, and pumpkin carving. Mackenzie especially loved helping pass out treats (and by treats, I mean handfuls (according to Grandpa) at the Buzzard Family Shoestore:).  Such a fun memory they will remember forever!

Another tradition that we have enjoyed the past two years is "Trunk or Treat" at the kid's school.  The kids parade around in their costumes and trunk or treat in the parking lot.  The big kids get to go to a local business near the school and trick or treat inside. After that, there are hot dogs, fruit salad, and endless sides to enjoy in their classrooms!

And...some of my favorites.....on a get together with our good friend's Amanda and Anthony and their kids, we got these priceless shots of the kids playing in the leaves....

Halloween 2012

We enjoyed a chilly and slightly rainy Trick-or-treat this year!  But, we fueled up beforehand with potato soup that cooked all day in the crockpot and homemade hot chocolate!

Yummy Potato Soup with bacon and cheddar cheese to top!
Veggie tray (Kenzie was in charge on the "finger" carrots!)

This hot cocoa was ridiculously fattening, but sooo good.  Perfect in a to-go cup while Trick-or-treating!
Then we were off to trick-or-treat!

Mackenzie instantly found her best buddy Addison to pal around with, and the Daddy's chaperoned, while the girls flew up and down the neighborhood giggling in their costumes.  Aunt Emily and I took Caleb around, while Nana handed out treats at our house.  Caleb had an absolute blast this year.  I was so proud of him.  We would wait on the sidewalk and he would walk up to the door by himself, grab a treat and shout "tank you!"  Then he would repeat the same phrase "Can we go to the next house and get more trick-or-treat candy?"

After hitting every house on our street, I convinced him that we should go back to our house to warm up and eat some candy. It was an easy sell and after eating far more candy than necessary, Jeremy and Kenzie made their way back home. Uncle Cody met us after work and we all enjoyed some goodies. It was a great night, and I look forward to raiding the kids candy bags tonight while they sleep. :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
