Trip to Connecticut

I finally got to meet my sweet nephew, Samuel this past week.  Thanks to my wonderful hubby, who took off a day of work, I was able to go for a long weekend.  Even better, my little Sis, Emily was able to fly out with me!  We had such a fun time traveling together and meeting the little guy!

We flew in late Thursday night and got up early Friday morning to get Michael up, fed, and off to Middle school.  Then we returned and woke the triplets up at 7:15 and got them dressed, fed, and off to the bus.  They were so excited to see us and it was fun to see them do their morning routine. Getting 4 kids up and off to school before 8 a.m. is much harder than just getting 1 to preschool 3 days a week by 9:00.  I don't know how Melissa does it!

We of course, got lots of cuddles in and tried to help out as much as possible by entertaining the kids.  We enjoyed playing outside, visiting the library, taking the kids to lunch at McDonald's and to the play area, and playing lots of board games!

I so wish we were closer so that we could spend more time with each other.  I truly treasure my time with them and think they are the greatest kids!  Of course, their parents aren't half bad either!  :)-  Melissa already has Samuel sleeping through the night ( I guess by baby #5 you have it all figured out) and is a wonderful Mom.  David has been such a help by taking over laundry, cooking, transporting the kids to the bus, grocery shopping, etc.   They are truly blessed!

Here are some pics from our stay!  Miss you already Limburg family!

Sweet, Sweet Samuel.  I so love this boy!

Cookin' with Kenz

Watch out Rachel Ray....Kenzie Rae may just be the next big deal on the Food Network Channel!  Today, as I was vaccuming the family room, I caught a glimpse of Kenzie running back and forth in the kitchen.  Upon further investigation, I noticed that she had lined up a dozen or more items from the fridge and pantry onto the countertop.

Now let me preface by saying that before vaccuming, she had politely asked me for a snack.  I told her in a minute. . . apparently that was too long to wait, so she took her hunger into her own hands.  I will be honest in saying that my first reaction was to tell her to put everything back.  But then I thought, why not?  I mean, if this  recipe turns out good, maybe I'll put her in charge of tonights dinner!

Oh, and in case you are wondering, she made soup.  I will just say it was unlike any soup I have ever tried, and yes, it was mandated that I try it, and that's all I'll say.

Ingredients:  1cashew, a dollop of apple butter, 1 dollop of Skippy Peanut Butter, a drop of Magic Shell, mustard, and mayo, a tiny peice of apple, a small scoop of strawberry jello, the entire juice of mandrain oranges, but none of the actual oranges, a drop of sweet roasted red peppers and 1 French's fried onion.  (You so know you want to make this!)
Put all of the above listed ingredients into a bowl.

Mix well, so that it looks like this.  (getting hungry?:)

Place into the oven (and no, I didn't even turn it on, but I did set the timer...total trickery, I know:)
Chill in the fridge

Delish!  :)-    Hope you enjoy, Kenzie's Creation!
I love you sweet girl...and can't wait for your next creation!

Caleb, 9 months

How is it possible, that my tiny, little baby boy is already 9 months old?  Okay, so he's not tiny, or little and if I could freeze time, I would.  I LOVE this age!  He is young enough to go to anyone without separation anxiety, but not old enough to have meltdowns or embarrass us in public.  He is (and always has been) a pure bundle of joy.  He is the sweetest baby I have ever known.  He is like sunshine.  I am completely and utterly smitten with this boy!  We love you Caleb!

*Caleb is on the move these days.  He loves to climb the stairs, push around his push toy, fly through the house in his walker, and go wherever we go.

*He really wants real food, but has no teeth just yet.  We have experimented with some food though, and he LOVES it!  It's really all he wants.

*We survived "operation Caleb cry it out" and he is sleeping through the night.   We still feed him right before one of us goes to bed, but I think that's going to end real soon.  Sorry, buddy.  But I think Dr. Jeff may recommend it at your next appt, considering you are in the 75th percentile, and could probably miss your late night snack.

*You say dada, mama, gooo gooo (Mackenzie likes to think he's saying good girl to her:), along with other babbling sounds.

*You have an infectious laugh, and you still shriek like a girl when you are really excited.

*You have ridiculously good fine motor skills.  You can pick up a single pea with your thumb and pointer finger and love to manipulate small things in your hands.

*You love to give things to people.  You will hand things back and forth to people and find that to be great fun!

*You are still very go with the flow and have a wonderful temperament.  I hope you always stays so sweet.

My New Nephew

Welcome to the World baby Samuel Clayton!  We are so excited to have another baby to love on!  We will never forget your birthday, 10-01-10 (that being said I am not promising that your birthday presents will arrive on time....I am notoriously late, as hard as I may try).  You are blessed with 2 big brothers and 2 big sisters, and the Worlds best parents.  You will never be short of playmates, that is certain.

I can't hardly wait to get my hands on you in a few weeks.  Congrats, Limburg's!  You have truly been blessed!
