I love you two dearly and am so proud to go by the title "Mommy"!
To start off Mother's day weekend, I was given the best gift ever...time to MYSELF! Don't get me wrong, I truly love and adore my 2 blessings, but having a little time to myself is a gift you just can't put a price tag on. My AMAZING husband planned the whole thing. I'll be honest, I felt a bit guilty spending a whole day, on Saturday, all to myself
After church on Sunday, we enjoyed our Annual Mother's day lunch at the Club. Their breakfast buffett is amazing and a tradition we all look forward to each year.
My favorite part this year was taking my sweet son up for a second plate and assuming he wanted a refill on fruit or waffles. Wrong! My lil' man grabbed his own plate off the buffett table (and quite possibly marched himself past the line of hungry and patiently waiting people) heading straight to the prime rib carving station. Yep, that's right. I tried to discourage him until the Chef on the opposite side of the table asked him if he would like to try a piece of meat. "Yeth" my little carnivore replied with a big grin. He kindly sliced two pieces of medium rare (no joke) meat onto his plate. Caleb replied "tank you" and then held up the plate to his little nose inhaling it multiple times. He then turned and briskly began walking to the table excited to partake in his first piece of prime rib. So excited in fact, that he just couldn't wait. Instead, he stopped dead in his tracks and began licking the thinly cut slices of meat. He did this (among laughter from all the surrounding tables) all the way to his seat. We all sat wide eyed as my sweet boy ate almost the entire plate of medium rare prime rib. Oh little boy, how lucky I am to be your mother and watch you learn and try new things in this world.
And to my sweet girl, I am so proud of the person you have become. You have such a fun and spunky spirit, but are equally sweet and kind. I love watching you interact with your friends, brother and Daddy. People adore you and it's no wonder. I love you bunches!
To my Mother-in-law, Kathy who is the most thoughtful, kind hearted, and loving mother-in-law a girl could ask for. You have always treated me like one of your own and have always made me feel like a part of your family. You have such a close and fun-loving relationship with your boys, and I adore the fact that my husband goes to you for advice and calls you multiple times throughout the week, just to see how you are. I can only hope that my own little boy will grow up to do the same. Thank you for raising such a wonderful man who loves his family more than anything in this World. I love you bunches and thank you for the strong role you play in all our lives!
To my amazing Sister-in-law, Kate. You remind me so much of my own Mom, quite possibly one of the many reasons I adore you! You have the biggest heart and truly enjoy life. You always see the good in things and never seem overwhelmed. You are always so kind in your interactions with your children and truly enjoy each moment spent with them. Everyone has fun when they are in your presence! You are one of the greatest Mom's I know.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Wonderful Mother's I know!
